THANK YOU TO OUR SPONSORS

The Nobelity Project Feed the Peace Awards is our largest fundraiser of the year. The evening supports all of our programs as we celebrate those committed to a more peaceful and sustainable world.

Every year we bring together stars of song, stage and screen and most importantly, the people who support The Nobelity Project's work around the world.

Our 2022 event sees a return to Austin's Paramount Theatre, where it all began with the SXSW premiere screening of our film NOBELITY. Red carpet cocktail party and art auction, awards presentation, concert and musical tribute make for an amazing night that makes all of our work possible.

Past honorees include Willie Nelson, Kris Kristofferson, Dan Rather, Ben Harper and more. Stay tuned for the announcement of the 2022 honorees!

Fun fact! The beautiful Feed the Peace Award is hand crafted by local glass and ceramics artist Kathleen Ash of Studio K in Manchaca, Texas.

Thank you for capturing many special moments over the years:

The Artists & Filmmakers Dinner is a fun-filled gala where there’s no back room and no black ties, just a great party and dinner that celebrates the idea and reality of hope. 45 tables are hosted by 45 legends of Texas film, music, books and more! Michael Barnes has called it “the star-studliest night of the year.”

This year the foundation is honoring Blake Mycoskie, founder of TOMS Shoes, who has given over 2 million pairs of shoes to kids in the developing world. And the evening includes performances from New York City’s DJ Spooky with the Tosca String Quartet and an all star jam with the incomparable Joe Ely, Charlie Sexton, Shawn Colvin with special guests.

Every guest is seated at a table with a Texas star. Past table hosts have included Willie Nelson, Owen Wilson, Kyle Chandler, Nobel laureate Steve Weinberg, Bill Paxton, Ricardo Chavira, Lyle Lovett, Kinky Friedman and many more!

The Nobelity Dinner delivers more celebrity firepower than dozens of other Austin galas put together. The list of musicians, filmmakers and literary figures goes on for days. Our table was headed by unpretentious musical treasures Bruce Robison and Kelly Willis...Nearby was Ellen Richards, whose mother’s name, late Gov. Ann Richards, an early Nobelity backer, was added to a new founders award.

That honor went to John McCall, an early and generous backer of Turk and Christy Pipkin’s charity that helps people with basic needs in Kenya, Nepal and Austin — just to start. With expected saltiness, former gubernatorial candidate Kinky Friedman accepted in McCall’s name.

The big honor of the night is the Willie Nelson Feed the Peace Award, which was picked up by actor and musician Kris Kristofferson. Later, a priceless array of artists interpreted his songs.

Aside from the company — which included the likes of Luke Wilson, Augie Garrido, Jody Conradt, Brendan Hansen, Brad Leland, Elizabeth Avellan, Jaston Williams and Ray Benson — among the charms of this annual affair is the rare auction that is cunningly fun and over in a matter of minutes.

Like the Glimmer of Hope Foundation auction, one pays for services — a water well, a bookmobile, a school basketball court — then the buyer also receives a nice bonus such as a vacation or a festival package. It’s so much more direct than the usual folderol and it raises tens of thousands of dollars in mere minutes.

The Pipkins know how to do it right.
