Light Work for Kenya was a fantastic, fun night at Paggi House September 7th on Ladybird/Town Lake. We want to send big thanks to our gracious hosts Paggi House and The Loren Hotel of Austin, and Giant Noise teams. Likewise to all our contributing artists and photographers (listed with links below), to the Routh Family for their sponsorship, and to Austin Art Services who helped hang our beautiful show. More thanks are due to Still Austin Spirits and Hope Family Wines, and to our front porch picking party musicians, Gabe Rhodes and Shawn Pander.
The renovated Paggi House space was perfect for a beautiful exhibit and party. We had quite a crowd and lively competition for purchasing the 28 donated works, which we grouped as a: wildlife photo gallery, a portrait collection, a floral and fine art room, and our modern works in the big room. We also had videos playing of our work in Kenya over the past 20 years.
It was a wonderfully successful fund-raising evening, and generated all the funds needed to build the new preschool at Oloile Primary near Amboselli, Kenya. This will be our 41st new 2-grade preschool, an important step for the many kids who’ll later be using the hundreds of classrooms, libraries, science and computer labs, kitchens, dinings halls, dorms and athletic facilities we’ve built across Kenya.
Turk opens the new preschool at Oloile this coming January, the first of many new school projects The Nobelity Project is building and opening in 2025. As always, there’s more information on our work at www.nobelity.org. We are always grateful to have support from those who are inspired by our work.
Thanks again to each and all of you!
